Cathy Wahkinney is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified EMDR Clinician, Certified Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) Provider, Certified Dynamic Mindfulness Instructor, Heartmath Clinical Certification, Certified Behavior Crisis Management Trainer, Certified in Critical Incident Stress Management and Crisis Intervention Training.

 

She has extensive training and experience in advanced trauma interventions such as: EMDR,  Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Advanced  Flash Technique, Internal Family Systems (IFS) Informed EMDR, Image Transformation Therapy (IMTT), Safe and Sound Protocol, Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation, and Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS), with a focus on somatic awareness, nervous system regulation, and deepening resilience. 

 

Cathy uses an individualized, multi-dimensional, integrative approach to mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness and specializes in untangling personal trauma from vicarious trauma, burnout, compassion fatigue, resolving the effects of primary and secondary trauma, addressing cumulative stressors and promoting psychological and physiological safety and healing. 

 

Cathy owns a private practice in the Oklahoma City area where she provides psychotherapy, intensives, training, consulting, Crisis Response Stress Management, and psychological safety and stabilization.
